Fractures vary in their severity and significance. A fracture to a transverse process or a spinous process although painful might not need any treatment at all. A crush fracture of a vertebral body may need treatment depending upon the amount of crush that has occurred. Timely assessment and investigations will enable correct decisions to be made about appropriate treatment.
